THE 2ND STORY- INFO SHEET

Things You Need to Know:

  • Tables:
    • 10-12 round folding tables (48″)
    • 2 rectangular folding tables (6′)
    • These are located in the large closet in the main hallway as you enter The 2nd Story
  •  Chairs:
    • 45-50 white folding chairs – found in the right closet as you turn down the short hallway off to the right of the main hallway
    • You will also find several other seating options throughout The 2nd Story including the kitchen table chairs, couches, and love seats
  • Kitchen:
    • Oven/Stove
    • Refrigerator/Freezer
    • Microwave (x2)
    • K-Cup Coffee Machines (x2)
    • Percolators (x2)
    • Residential Sink
  • Plug-and-Play Audio/Video:
    • Each room in The 2nd Story is equipped with plug-and-play audio/video features.
      • Main Gathering Room – Along the wall with the large TV, you will find an A/V cabinet. Make sure the power strip attached to the back of the cabinet is on.
        • On the side of the cabinet you will find three cords: HDMI (for audio/video from a laptop); Lightning cable (for iPhones); Auxiliary cable (for headphone jacks on laptops, phones, tablets, etc.)
      • After plugging in the HDMI to your laptop, find the Roku remote in the top drawer of the cabinet.
      • Power on the TV and select the the “computer”/”HDMI” input method.
      • If using audio with your video, make sure the TV volume is turned on, then simply control the video volume from your laptop.
      • For Audio only– After having selected the appropriate cord for your device, simply control the volume from your device. The sound system in the space is already set to accommodate a certain level suited for most occasions. You will hear the audio coming from speakers throughout the space.
    • “Living Room” Space – This space has a smart TV and sound bar, with HDMI and auxiliary cables for plug-and-play. Also, you will find an AppleTV for AirPlay use on Macs, iPhones, and iPads.
    • Kitchen/Bonus “office” Space – Each of these rooms have a smart TV and sound bar setup. As with the other spaces, there are HDMI and auxiliary cables available for direct connection to either the TV or sound bar for your A/V needs.
  • NOTE – if you want the ability to show the same video on every screen in The 2nd Story we can provide extra details upon request.
  • Cleaning/Trash:
    • In the chance you need cleaning supplies during your reservation you can find these in the large closet – also houses the folding tables – residing along the wall of the main hallway. Items include:
      • Broom/dustpan
      • Swiffer
      • Dry mop
    • Additional cleaning supplies can be found under the kitchen sink and include:
      • Sanitizing wipes
      • Dish towels
      • Assorted cleaning solutions
    • At this time, all trash must be taken with you and disposed of offsite and new can liners replaced as you leave
  • Miscellaneous
    • As you enter the The 2nd Story at the Maple Street door, you will see a light switch panel which will turn on the stairwell and landing lights. As you turn to go down the hallway, you will see another switch pad which will turn on the hallway lights.
    • Every other room at The 2nd Story has its own light switch panel in the room itself.
    • The 2nd Story has two thermostats: one on the left wall of the main hallway and the second on the side hallway directly opposite of the first thermostat. You are encouraged to use these for your event, but we ask that you adjust them back when you leave.
      • Note – be sure NOT to change any preprogrammed schedules on either of the thermostats 
    • Be sure to bring any items or utensils you will need if making/serving food and take them with you when you leave the space. Any food left behind in the refrigerator will be disposed of in the timely manner.

 

As-You-Go Checklist:

As you prepare to leave the space, we ask that you:

  • Put away any tables or chairs that you used for your event
  • Clean up any messes or spills using items located in the table/utility closet (main hallway)
  • Take all trash bags with you as you go, replacing with new liners (trash can liners are found under the kitchen sink)
  • Turn out all lights (bathrooms, kitchen, bonus room, “living room”, and main gathering space)
  • Make sure that no water has been left running (sinks, toilets, etc.)
  • To lock The 2nd Story door, using the same keypad as entry, make sure the door is fully closed and simply press the red logo button on the keypad
